Kalu-Kalu Ugwuomo Jr. is an Amsterdam Group Public Relations CSR and Sustainable Business Development Services Consultant and founder / North American Director of Nexus Africa a global network of African philanthropists. Nexus Africa forms a strategic facet of the NexGen philanthropy network, Nexus Global. He is also a co-founder and an original member of the Hip Hop Caucus, a US national non-profit organization that aims to foster civic engagement among young people of color on various issues.
As an environmentalist, Kalu helped launch “Green the Block” as part of the White House’s Green Jobs initiative with the Hip Hop Caucus and partner Green For All. In his role at Amsterdam Group, Kalu is a business development analyst for client and ‘clean tech’ organization Global Thermostat, where he spearheads eco-transfer strategies in emerging African markets.
Kalu takes great pride in his ethnic heritage as an Igbo from Eastern Nigeria, launching initiatives such as the AKU Foundation with the Abiriba Kingdom Community Improvement Union, a movement working to promote and execute sustainable industrial development in the Niger delta region.
